The EK SPV-1 train monitoring system consists of devices built into the trains and a central database server. After the train is switched on and the driver enters the required data, each individual device periodically sends to the central server information about the train number, driver number, timetable and GPS position of the train. The system is intended for retrofitting to multi-train, two-steering systems. It consists of a power module, a Tracker with two antennas (GPS and GPRS) and two consoles for entering train numbers, driver identification and timetable numbers. The driver uses the console located in the active steering wheel.
