The EK OT-1 optical phone is part of the EK DIC-2 system that serves as a replacement for multi-kilometer LB telephone lines between the train stations and the local LB telephone line within the stations.

The EK OT-1 Optical Phone functionality completely replaces the traditional inductor phone, providing better voice quality and introduces additional functionality of the cord inductor phone.

The EK OT-1 has full functionality of the inductor phone, as well as the commutative functionality of the associated shutters. For this purpose, there are implimentary digital lines for switching conversations and calls with and to inductor phones. At the same time, the optical phone has advanced functionality in the operation of inductor phones, as well as advanced features that can only be used in the operation of optical phones.
