In collaboration with the City of Cres, we installed a solar power plant on the building of the “Girice” Kindergarten, making it one of the few “solar kindergartens” in Croatia. This project is part of a broader initiative titled “Good Energy – Solar Energy for the Energy Transition” and serves as a positive example of how local communities can actively contribute to the fight against climate change.

We installed a solar power plant on a kindergarten in Cres: Another step towards the energy transition.

The installed 20 kW solar power plant will enable the kindergarten to save up to €2,000 annually on electricity bills, while also significantly reducing CO2 emissions. In addition to utilizing renewable sources—specifically solar energy—this power plant represents an investment in sustainability and a more secure energy future. The project in Cres is part of a broader partnership involving the Istria County, several Croatian cities, and two organizations from Norway, and is funded through the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism as well as the national “Energy and Climate Change” Programme.

Elektrokem proudly took part in this project as the expert contractor responsible for the installation and technical implementation of the photovoltaic system. With many years of experience in performing electrical and energy works, we have specialized in installing solar systems across various settings—from public buildings to industrial facilities.

By installing solar power plants, users gain multiple benefits:
• Financial savings through reduced electricity consumption costs,
• Reduced environmental impact by using clean energy sources,
• Energy independence and security,
• Increased property value,
• Positive image and contribution to the community.

For many users, switching to a photovoltaic system is no longer just a trend—it’s a strategic decision. With high technology efficiency and increasingly accessible financing options, solar power plants are becoming a sustainable solution for private, public, and commercial buildings alike. An additional advantage lies in reducing dependence on market fluctuations in electricity prices, which helps stabilize operating costs in the long term.

Features such as silent operation, long lifespan, resistance to weather conditions, and minimal maintenance requirements further reinforce the appeal of this technology. Through years of experience, Elektrokem has built a strong reputation in the market as a reliable partner providing comprehensive support—from consulting and design to installation and maintenance of solar systems.
